Match reports will (sometimes) be written here during the 2009/10 season. Some longer than others, some funnier than others, but usually worth a read. If anyone wants to write a report, just email it to Woody and he'll post it here.

LEO STARS IN RESERVE WIN

HTS Bar Abs Res 4 Broadmead 1

With a very strong squad to choose from and an opposition with half of the team looking like they had only played football for the first time, an easy game was expected.

Things went to plan from the whistle and within a minute we were a goal up. Leo beating the special needs full back and blasting into the bottom corner. 1-0. We grew in confidence and dominated possession with Riley and Knight pulling the strings but without getting the important second goal. Other chances came and went but credit must be given to the Broadmead keeper who made a string of blinding saves, notably one from Leo's header which he saved at point blank range. Halftime HTS Res 1-0 up.

Second half we started strongly but after 10 mins we let Broadmead back into the game, they broke and we found ourselves short at the back, their best player taking advantage and slotting past Ayres. 1-1. This was the wake up call we needed and it made us more determined. Bird came on as a sub and within 5 minutes of his arrival he played a pin point 30 yard pass straight onto Leo's foot who expertly flicked it over the out rushing keeper. 2-1. Only a short time later a shot was fumbled by the keeper and Leo was on hand to knock into an empty net from 2 yards and claim his first HTS hattrick! 3-1. We carried on dominating the game and firing in shots from all angles. The 4th goal came when Leo played a quality ball over the top of the Broadmead defence and Shafe bravely poked home just before the out rushing keper could get there and getting injured in the process. 4-1.

Although not the greatest team we will play this season we showed great determination and played some super football. Well done the ressie's!!

Ayres, Watkiss, Weston, Dixon, Geo King, Shafe, Knight (c), Riley, Leo, Goodwin, Greg king. subs: Bird, Flack, Gibbins, Pearson.

Fantasy Football 09/10 PDF Print E-mail

Its that time of year again when we all like to pretend we are Mancunian-Arab billionaire's, or Florentino Perez and go crazy in the Fantasy Football transfer market.
Where else can you put Torres in a team with a realistic chance of winning a title, or Robbie Keane in a team that will be looking to win a game before Christmas?? Or indeed you could say where else would Phil Neville actually be seen to be a bargain at £5m!
I have re-opened the league that we had running last year on the website http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
All of you that were in the league last year should be entered automatically when you re-enter your team this year.
For everyone else, once you have picked your team, just click on "leagues" and enter the number 253599-63809 to join our league.
Entry to the website and our league is free.
For those of you that want to make it a little bit more exciting, I am again proposing to collect £5 from those that want to, with the pot being split between the top 3 paying players.
Last year saw Ryan Gaydon running away with the league and winning £25, with Grundon in second (£10) and Sam Smith getting his money back in third
Money needs to be paid to me by the end of September to be eligible for the money game.
